Alternative To Bouquets

20090207_wedding_0175This is me desperatly trying to look confident at Ambers wedding

Walking up the aisle is scary.

The last time I walked up the aisle as a bridesmaid I was so nervous my left leg started spassiming uncontrollably – it didn’t stop until the bride and groom were well into their vows ….so now I am scared for my own wedding – what if another body part starts spassiming out of control….something a little more obvious than a leg…?

Because I will be so nervous – like all brides are I’m sure – the idea of having something to hold on to whilst me and my girls rock up the aisle is appealing, but I want something a little different to the traditional bouquet….here are my top five alternatives…

I love lanterns – whether you are able to get all matching or mix them up they can add a cosy or quirky feeling to the walk up the aisle.

I love this photo – I love the colours and the fact you can’t see any of the bridesmaids faces – the bride is the white one right at the back…takes the mystery of the traditional veil over the face to a whole new level.

Lavender bouquet

I don’t know what it is but I am digging the wheat bouquet.  Lavender is also a simple but beautiful bundle to hold.

Simple candlelight is a beautiful way to sashay down the aisle – especially if you are having a wedding right on dusk.
