People, the 4th Installment

 

The Overinvolved Ones

These are the people that make you feel inadequate because they are in 12 different clubs and the president of the students association and still getting good grades while also maintaining a social life. I don’t understand, there are not enough hours in the day. And also, I’m too lazy.

The Try Hard Students

These are the people that you don’t want to go and pick up grades with, because they will cry if you do better and rub it in your face if you do worse. They obsessively write pages and pages of notes in class while you sit there gobsmacked because you had spaced out for 10 minutes and now have only one line of notes. It’s a tough life for us underachievers.

The Weird Ones

These are the people that are in the back of every lecture and the corner of every tutorial. You don’t really notice them until they say something really weird in a tutorial, usually in the introduction session, ‘I was once possessed by an evil spirit’. Uhhhhh, ok. Or you will notice them during a lecture when they are scrolling through a website that sells guns. No joke, this actually happened.

The Overdressed Ones

These are the people that come to University decked out in the most amazing clothes and make you feel shitty because you didn’t want to go to Uni and in protest wore your gym clothes….even though you hadn’t and had no plans to actually go to the gym. First years are common overdressers but they tend to grow out of it when Uni steals their soul along with their dress sense.

The Absent Ones

These are the people that hardly ever attend actual classes but still do really well. We hate these people, but we also wish we were these people… And when they do go to class you are like GTFO.
