Doing Something In Order To Do Nothing.
Ahhh, procrastination….It’s something we have all done, (admit it to yourself). I did a lot of it this last week, A LOT, so much did I want to avoid writing my essay that I stooped to some new personal lows, for example:
The Facebook Refresh
There is only so many times you can refresh Facebook…but that doesn’t stop me! I can refresh that page probably at least twice every 5 minutes, just in the hope that something new will be added to my newsfeed. And it always happens, that the day you choose to use Facebook as a procrastination tool, is the day that Facebook is mind-numbingly boring… useless… (I also do this with Instagram)
The TV Repeats
Watching old episodes of my favourite TV shows online. Episodes that I have already seen a hundred times before and then I end up not even watching it, I just open another tab and let it play on the background… classic.
The Phone Watch
This is similar to the Facebook refresh. You just sit there and telepathically wish someone would text you. This is a pretty boring one…
The Room Clean
This is definitely when I know I am desperate to not do my work….but to be fair, my idea of cleaning up is mainly putting on some music really loud and half heartedly moving things from one place on my floor to another, while singing in front of the mirror…
- The Eating
Just all the time. All day. Even when it isn’t a proper meal time. Even when the food you are eating can barely be called food. Even when you realize that you have been eating constantly for about 6 hours. And then you hate yourself…it’s a vicious cycle. I blame the essay!!!!
But my best way of procrastinating ever is: writing a blog post about how to procrastinate.
