Bellatrix Lestrange is The Devil in Prada.

written by Amber July 2, 2012

Thanks to Lauren Weisberger, whose novel was made into the infamous film of how fashion really works behind the scenes, we know it as ‘The Devil Wears Prada‘. However, in the case of Roman Polanski‘s short film, ‘A Therapy’, which was screened at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in May, it appears that the devil in Prada is really Harry Potter‘s Bellatrix Lestrange, otherwise known as Helena Bonham Carter.

In the short film, Carter plays a significant role as a patient with poor rich girl problems (probably the best oxymoron, ever) and daddy issues. While Carter spills her feelings – “I’m a very lonely person. I think it’s because I’m rich and Daddy left me everything. I loved my daddy. But his money was a curse.”  – her psychiatrist, Sir Ben Kingsley, is distracted by her purple, fur-lined Prada coat. Watch the film below.

…….

Judging by this film, it must be correct, what they say, about retail therapy being the best form of therapy. Perhaps, therapists need therapy too – it certainly wouldn’t be surprising if they needed it more than their patients do. After all, being paid to listen to countless problems of many others would surely make one a bit loco.

So, wait, does this make Kingsley… The Devil in Prada? Because that would just make a hell of a lot of sense.
