Relinquishing models, and instead, opting to feature contemporary musicians in his T campaigns, Alexander Wang has worked with the likes of Santigold and Spank Rock (Fall 2011) and Die Antwoord (Spring 2012). Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Wang has collaborated with his 2012 Met Ball date – the stylishly vulgar rap-pop deity, Azealia Banks, for Fall 2012.
According to Wang, “She [Banks] exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent. I loved working with her on this video for T Fall 2012, and think the collaboration captures a collision of energies.”
Directed by Daniel Jackson, with art direction by Christopher Simmonds, and styled by Alastair McKimm, Banks raps “Van Vogue” from her EP, 1991.
