The Victory for Obama is a Victory For The Fashion Industry

With Barack Obama pledging “the best is yet to come”, Democrats all over the world continue to celebrate the U.S President’s prestigious victory of a second term at the White House. While this is happening, fashionistas worldwide also join the celebrations. The reason for this: MObama.

Since becoming the first African-American First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama has been admired by fashion enthusiasts, globally, due to her style and grace. As the Obama fam-bam entered the stage to celebrate their victory, Michelle donned a number she had pulled out of her closet. Worn before on other occasions, the piece was a magenta silk chine pin-tucked dress by Michael Kors, accessorized with a House of Lavande vintage pink brooch, a black cardigan and appropriate black heels. Joining her and the President were their two daughters, Sasha and Malia, both mini-Michelles in their elegant A-line silhouette pleated skirts – Sasha’s being green, and Malia’s, electric blue to match Barack’s tie.

In 2009, The Council of Fashion Designers of America presented Michelle with their Board of Directors’ Special Tribute award, in honor of her influence in the industry. Luckily for us, it looks like we now have another four more years on MObama Style Watch.
