NZFW Log: Day 2.
Breakfast at Bluesky & Lighting up at Trelise
The Shows: Bluesky – Twenty Seven Names & Ingrid Starnes, Trelise Cooper.
The Weather: Sunny!!!
The Verdict:
Twenty Seven Names (Bluesky)
Twenty Seven Names showed as part of Blue Sky at The Australis House. We arrived late morning to snack on some delicious breakfast bites and Atomic coffee before the fashionz began. We were pretty much sold on the show right from the start, who couldn’t love a show whose soundtrack started off with Beyoncé’s All My Single Ladies?
No one that’s who.
The collection itself was all the loyal Twenty Seven Names customer could want – Cute mixed prints, sweet dresses and cropped trouser suits – all pulled together with socks and jellies (JELLIES!!!). Again, who couldn’t love a show that accessorized with jellies?
No one that’s who.
Ingrid Starnes
The second of the Bluesky shows, Ingrid Starnes followed Twenty Seven Names cool cuteness with elegant sophistication: Demure hemlines matched with sheer blouses in muted, dusky colours, some gorgeously cut tweed trousers and one STUNNing sheer nude dress.
We thought it was all very English countryside esq – think Keira Knightly in Atonement – Elegant, sophisticated but definitely not boring.
Trelise Cooper
There was a certain buzz in the Viaduct Events Centre before the Trelise Cooper show. Renowned for her extravagant sets and exquisite designs, we all knew we were in for a treat.
We were right – the set design was beautiful, and the finale, well that quite literally lit up the catwalk.
Full disclosure – although we can fully appreciate her craft, TC is has never exactly been our personal aesthetic.
But now, after this amazing show, we are complete converts. We LOVED about a million pieces and would even wear a few of the complete looks. Nice one TC.
