One thing on our fashion bucket list is to attend an Alexander Wang show, and we’re pretty indubitable that one does not need a reason as to why.
Each season, Wang knocks it out of the park with his innovative creations, and for Spring 2013, his Ready-To-Wear collection is an amazement beyond words. Featuring monochromatic and modern masterpieces, the collection is simultaneously sporty, sexy, and symmetrical.
Of the range, Wang explains, “After last season’s austerity, I wanted to pull garments apart, experiment with volumes.” And pull garments apart he did. The allusive “look at me” dresses were held together by an invisible fish-line embroidery, creating an illusion that the garments were floating on the body. “We wanted the garments to float on the girls, but not in an ethereal way,” elucidated the 28 year old genius, “always keeping the structure.” Basically magic, in our opinion, although somewhat akin to Dion Lee’s Fall 2012 RTW collection (look 6).
All in all, the Wang woman for Spring 2013 is definitely one that is confident, racy, and up for fun no matter what time of day it is, but with a preference for the dark, of course…
HELLO, NEON GLOWING DRESSES!
Can you spell radi-cool? Just how practical the collection is, we don’t know, but we like it, and we want it.
