New Zealand Fashion Week may be over, but that does not mean the fun has to stop. For your viewing pleasure, we chatted to some of the nation’s coolest male models that strode the runway over the past week…
Cedric Pasco N Model Management
A new face to the NZ modeling scene, the stunning Cedric might just be our very first androgynous model yet…

How long have you been modeling for and how did you get into it?
I’ve been modeling for about four months now, I think. I got scouted in The Department Store in Takapuna by Angela Bevan from New Face No Agent, then I got signed to N Model Management from there.
What do you enjoy most about fashion week?
Getting to dress up and meeting new people.
What shows did you do this week?
Salasai and Stolen Girlfriends Club.
What was your favorite show?
Stolen Girlfriends Club. It was offsite so it felt a lot more free backstage. The show, and the collection itself, was great.
Who is your favorite designer?
This is a hard one. It changes for me almost every collection. There are so many great designers! Domestically, I would have to say Jimmy D or Zambesi. Internationally, it would have to be Daniel Palillo or Roberto Piqueras. When I have kids, I want to dress them in Daniel Palillo. They have the coolest kids clothes.
Who is your style icon?
G-Dragon from that K-pop group Big Bang. I don’t actually listen to them because, sadly, I don’t understand them but I love what they wear.
QUESTION A LOT OF US REALLY WANT TO KNOW: How do they make your amazing long hair look short in certain shows?!
Easy, I just take the wig off. [editor’s note: duh, we knew that]
What are your hobbies/hidden talents?
I like to play guitar. I’m not that great at it though. Like at all. Is Facebook a hobby or a bad habit?
If you weren’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, what would you be?
I’d pretty much be doing exactly what I’m doing now except without the modeling thing so I’d just be your average high school student.
….
Jay Lichter Clyne Models
Another new face, Jay has an air of nonchalance on (and off) the runway and is also in a Death Metal band. Those cheekbones…

How long have you been modeling for and how did you get into it?
I’m still a youngin’ so not very long at all, we signed with Clyne a few months ago and things just kind of snowballed from there. Karen Inderbitzen-Waller and Delphine Avril Planqueel saw me on High Street last year and asked if I wanted to do a photo shoot with them.
What shows did you do this week?
I did Salasai and Stolen Girlfriend’s Club, and Huffer.
What was your favorite show?
I reckon the Stolen show was definitely my favorite, closely followed by Huffer. Everyone there was really cool and it wasn’t stressful at all.
Who is your favorite designer?
My favorite designers would have to be Marc and Zara from Stolen, and Steve from Huffer.
Who is your style icon?
I don’t really try to dress like anyone, I just wear black skinny jeans and band merchandise. My style hasn’t changed at all in three years!
What are your hobbies/hidden talents?
Music’s probably my main interest. I like playing guitar, I started playing when I was five and now I’m in a Death Metal band.
If you weren’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, what would you be?
Just what I do normally, hanging out with friends and writing music.

How long have you been modeling for and how did you get into it?
Three of four years now, I think. My girlfriend Amber had been twisting my arm to do it for ages. One day, I decided it wasn’t such a bad idea, and let her send in some photos to Amanda [Betts] at Red Eleven.
What do you enjoy most about fashion week?
I like the vibe and the atmosphere – so many things going on, it’s pretty exciting. Seeing all the little surprises come out.
What shows did you do this week?
Just Salasai for me this year.
What was your favorite show?
Not just because I’m biased on a few levels, but Salasai – those lips were crazy. Zambesi definitely looked amazing too.
Who is your favorite designer?
I don’t really subscribe to anyone in particular – I’m a sucker for camo & tight jeans, so anyone who puts that out. Locally, I’d probably have to say Workshop, as that is who is taking up a lot of space in my closet.
Who is your style icon?
I don’t really have one.. I just see what I like and do what I want.
What are your hobbies?
Amber D [cute!!], coffee, my hardcore band – Antagonist A.D., and kickboxing.
If you weren’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, what would you be?
Batman. [good answer]

Isaac Silva Looker N Model Management
This long-haired cutie from Dunedin is the token Huffer boy. On the runway or in a campaign, Isaac is one of the cool cats in the industry. He kind of reminds us a bit of Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Yes, no?

I have been modeling for just over a year now and I was found, funnily enough, over the Interweb on Facebook!

What shows did you do this week?
I did Stolen Girlfriends Club and Huffer.
What was your favorite show?
I enjoyed both of them so much! Although, I guess I’m a little biased towards the Huffer show because they had Mexican food and tequila!
Who is your favorite designer?
My favorite designer right now is Rose Thomas, an Aucklander who designs and handmakes the brand Nymphets.
Who is your style icon?
I don’t know! Probably my friend Lucinda King from the band The Blueness.
What are your hobbies/hidden talents?
I’m very easily amused so I have a lot, but I guess music is a big one. I’ve been doing a lot of collage making and disco dancing recently.
If you weren’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, what would you be?
I’d be a doctor by day, and cosmonaut by night.

What are your hobbies/hidden talents?
I have many hobbies but my favorites are magic and chasing cats.
If you weren’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, what would you be?
If I wasn’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, I would be some strange and awkward water mammal trying desperately to evolve into a land walker, so I could finally taste a Granny Smith apple. [editor’s note: take from that what you will].
…
Max Xavier N Model Management
Just one look at his portfolio, and you can tell that Max Xavier (how cool is that name?) is going to be huge. He may think pasty, we think international…

If you weren’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, what would you be?
Hmmm, I’d probably be one of NZ’s pastiest models.
…
Hunter McLeod Clyne Models
Quite possibly the only male that could rock a mo’ without looking seedy, Hunter’s recently gotten rid of his signature. He looks badass, but we think he’s actually a bit of a sweetheart…

…
Storm Tuiva Red Eleven Models and Talent
We’ve also featured Storm before, and he’s just such a delight. He rocks a badass walk, and my, oh my, that jawline…
Photo Credit: Katherine Lowe (Katherineisawesome.com) / Red Eleven Models and Talent
How long have you been modeling for and how did you get into it?
I was signed to Red Eleven near the end of 2010 – they called my cellphone out the blue one morning. I have no clue how they found my number, but apparently Fiona Quinn told them about me. I turned up the same day and was signed up the next. It all happened pretty fast.
What do you enjoy most about fashion week?
The rush you get from walking in a show is pretty wicked, and just the general vibe. The after-parties are always really cool too, I can’t complain.
What shows did you do this week?
I walked the Stolen Girlfriends Club show this year. You can always trust them to put on a really insane show!
Who is your favorite designer?
I’ve always had a soft spot for Zambesi, and Damir Doma blows my mind..
What are your hobbies/hidden talents?
My main hobbies are daydreaming, taking photographs, painting and drawing, the odd game of tennis, piano, and rapping, ha!
If you weren’t one of New Zealand’s coolest models, what would you be?
I’m flattered you think that! I’d love to be a creative for runway shows over the world (dreamer), plus many other things.
…
Yup, New Zealand’s got talent, alright.
