Who would have known that this show would showcase such fabulous costumes, outstanding performing by Jemma Rix ( the bad witch) and Suzie Mathers (God Witch). The show kicks of with complete darkness and then the roar of the music and the outstanding set that takes you into the scene immediately. It’s already a story that we have all known from children about the Wizard of Oz but if reverse’s up to tell you how these 2 came together and came to be and without giving it all away intertwines the story of the Bad and god witches relationship and cross pollinates it with snippets of the Wizard of Oz. I was overly impressed with how cool the show is for the girls and also for the boys. Lots of dark scenes and seriously creative hair and make-up that will keep the most fidgety boys attention for the entire show.
Of course most of the cast are Australian so our very own kiwi Jay Laga’aia stars as the Wizard and does a marvellous job of bringing his character together for the show. Jemma RIx the bad witch is the star of the show as far as I am concerned with a ‘voice from the angels’. She truly takes your breath away with the depth of her voice and one that shocks you because you quickly realise how diverse and how much depth is too this role and how fabulously she plays it !
I recommend everyone to check it out. It was a 10/10 for me and the only other show that I thought hit the mark like that was Jersey Boys as all you wanted to do was get up and rock on !
