Angelina Jolie was officially made a Dame (ish).

The Queen presented Angelina with the insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George for her work with U.K. foreign policy and the fight against sexual violence. She’s only really a Dame-sih though because she’s not a British citizen.

Malala won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Two years and a day after Taliban gunmen shot her in the head for daring to speak up for the rights of a girl to get an education, Malala Yousafzai aka the most wonderful teenager around was awarded the Nobel Peace prize. What did you do today?

Brunch is for jerks now according to David Shaftel’s NYT op ed.

I refuse to buy into this. NO brunch is not for jerks, jerks certainly go to brunch (and instagram it) but so do perfectly unaffected people who just like to have the choice between breakfast or lunch foods. So don’t ruin brunch for me David Shaftel, ya jerk. (read it here)
