THE AGE OLD QUESTION.
So you have a party this weekend. It’s a formal affair so your outfit must meet certain black tie expectations but it’s also the kind of party where one might end up dancing on a table.
For some choosing something to wear to such an event would be as easy as opening their wardrobes and pulling out that dress they have worn maybe once in the 5 months since they brought it, but for me it’s a little more convoluted. I have many dresses that have only seen the light of day once, perfectly good specimens that deserve more than the back of my closet but I get bored quickly. I’m like a man-eater of dresses; I get in, get on and throw out, discarding the former for a newer, better model. At least clothes don’t have feelings right?
This is not a very economical attitude towards dressing. It’s a vicious cycle of falling in love with the perfect piece of clothing, dropping dollars on it, wearing it out then subsequently chucking it in the back of my closet. You might think I would have learnt my lesson by now but as you can divulge by this post, I have not. Say hello to my current dress obsessions curtesy of Shopbop:
Express shipping please, I need it by the weekend.
