RED CARPET ARRIVALS: The Good and the Bad.

Part Two

Heidi Klume in Alexandre Vauthier, Sofia Vegara in Zuhair Murad, Julianne Hauge in  Georges Hobeika

GOOD

Heidi’s dress SOMEHOW makes her look a bit stumpy in this picture – but on TV it is ammmmazing. It’s all very Heidi: Slits up to there and down to there, she’s showing a lot off as usual. But then again, if I was Heidi Klume I would too.

We are in love with Sofia Vegara. So in love that she could wear anything and still be on the best dressed list. She is just way awesome. Anyway, the dress – the colour is beautiful with her skin and hair and it fits her like a glove. She’s our Columbian mermaid.

Apparently Julianne’s (Ms Ryan Seacrest) dress exactly matches her eyes. Naww good for her.

BAD

A dress that can make Heidi Klume look stumpy can’t be given that higher praise. Even if she did look good on camera. Also we dislike the matchy matchy earrings, if they had been a bright orange or red they would’ve been killer.

We really wish that Julianne’s hair looked less like it was moulded to her head.

Nicole Kidman in Antonio Berardi, Michelle Dockery in Louis Vuitton, Zooey Deschanel in Reem Acra

GOOD:

Zooey’s icy blue gown is so pretty. It looks a bit poofy in pictures but on screen you can see the stunning laser cut detail in the fabric and how light an breezy it is. Ryan describes it as “literally a breath of fresh air.” We couldn’t agree more.

Michelle Dockery’s hair and make up is good – loving the red lip against the cobalt blue.

BAD:

Nicole Kidman always wears these column dresses. We get it, you’re tall, statuesque and ageless and these dresses just suit you. But today something went wrong – this just looks stiff, kind of like muslin cloth and there seem to be blue sequin wings sprouting from her belly button.

Satin is NEVER a good choice. NEVER EVER. It photographs terribly, every fold is visible. Also we fear that that might be a hand in a pocket. Emmy dresses should not have pockets, gowns should not have pockets. Death to pockets!

We wish we could see Zooey’s shoes. Sigh.

Jullianne Moore in Christian Dior Couture, Leslie Mann in Naeem Khan, Claire Danes in Lanvin, Julie Bowen in Monique Lhullier

GOOD:

First of all props to these ladies for wearing maybe the hardest colour to pull off.

Julianne Moore is wearing designer of the moment, Raf Simons for Dior Couture. This is possibly the only reason this long sleeve yellow gown actually works. We love you Raf and we love you Julianne for rocking this ouuuuut.

Leslie Mann and he husband seem very much in love.

Clare Danes is pregnant. She doesn’t look pregnant in this picture, that in itself is a win for this Lanvin dress. Other than that this dress is actually beautiful. She looks comfortable and effortless (on TV especially).

Julie Bowen! This is one of those I just rolled out of bed and artfully wrapped my sheet around myself dresses. But in a good way.

BAD:

As much as we like Julie and her sheet dress, her hair is a little… Wild. Has it been teased? Since when has teased been a credible look?

Leslie your dress has pockets. You already know how we feel about that.

Lucy Lu in Versace, Tina Fey in Vivianne Westwood, Kristin Wig in Balenciaga

GOOD:

Lucy Lu is dressed in metal. Thats pretty damn cool.

Tina Fey has NEVER looked this good. It fits her perfectly, the colour compliments her skin tone, her hair is simple and elegant – She killed it.

We love the hem line of Kristen Wigs dress actually we love everything from the waist down. THOSE SHOES.

BAD:

Despite the coolness in the fact Lucy’s dress is made of metal – She kind of looks like a human disco ball.

Somehow the top of Kristin Wig’s dress doesn’t really work. Maybe if the cups were further down? Or if her hair was up? Do we even care? I just don’t know.

DONE! Who was your best dressed of the night?
