RED CARPET ARRIVALS: The Good and the Bad.
Part One
January Jones in ZAC POSEN, Elizabeth Moss in DOLCE, Giuliana Rancic in …?
GOOD:
Elizebeth Moss looks all glow-y and happy, we love her hair blonde – she is one of those actresses that VERY far removed from the character she is famous for.
Moss’s hair style is great.
Moss’s shoes are also great – long live the classic court.
Giuliana is not sporting those ratty extensions. Thats always a plus.
We also enjoy the neckline of Giuliana’s gown.
January Jones has a beautiful smile.. And her make up is good in a dark/edgy way.
BAD:
January, what the hell is going on below your waist? The top is pretty and interesting, if only it had continued those sleek lines to the floor… It looks like she got her dress caught in her Limo door as it drove away and it subsequently unravelled – if this is actually the case Miss Jones, then we forgive you.
Elizabeth Moss is wearing a MULLET dress. Trend needs to die. It is no more acceptable on a piece of clothing than it is on your head. Also I am unsure if frills sprouting from your breasts is a good thing – chop those off (and the mullet) and it could have been quite a stunning to-the-knee dress.
Apart from the well crafted neckline, we find ourselves a little bored with Giuliana’s gown. But then again it’s simple, fits like a glove and for once is not covered in sparkles pr accessorized with some huge F-off diamonds. Do we miss that? Maybe we do? Or Maybe this just isn’t a bad after all.
Morina Baccarin in… ?, Hayden Panettiere in MARCHESA spring 2013, Emily VanCamp in J MENDEL
GOOD
Morina Baccarin gown is amazing. We love that soft dove grey, the floaty chiffon and the deep V bodice. The feathering detail on the front, if it had stopped a little higher could have entered dangerous ‘all signs point to crotch’ territory, but thankfully that is avoided. This is without a doubt our favorite dress so far.
Hayden Panettiere’s face is flawless.
Emily VanCamp’s makeup and undone-done hair style is gorgeous and we love the colour of her gown (is this the new Red Carpet trend?!). The detail on the bodice is pretty AND it falls beautifully to the floor. I bet this looks like a breath of fresh air when she walks.
BAD
We wish Morina’s hair had been swept back into a loose low bun. Kinda just looks like she just shook it out from a pony tail.
We don’t even know what to say about Hayden’s dress. What was she/her stylist thinking? Seriously, how can you see this foil-mesh-mermaid costume of a dress and think “THIS is the right choice for the Emmys” I mean, can she even walk in this? What are those loose tendrils doing? This is one mess of a dress. We cannot even see how to remedy the situation.
As much as we love many parts of Emily’s gown, we have our reservations. It is very close to entering ‘boob pancake’ town – We are unsure what is holding the girls up but whatever it is it is almost doing to good of a job. Also, while it could be the awkward pose that she is ricking here, it actually looks a little small for her. Especially around the arms.
Kat Dennings, Edie Falco in STELLA McCARTNEY, Gennifer Goodwin in MONIQUE LHULLIER
GOOD:
We love the scarlet colour of Kat’s gown and the pretty gathering at the bodice AND the sweetheart neckline.
I’m just going to say it, Edie Falco has NEVER looked this good, we actually didn’t recognize her at first. Despite wearing a dress eerily similar to one Miss Paltrow (Kate Moss?) has worn recently (and noone wants to be compared to that), she looks radiant and healthy and just plain amazing. Mad props to her stylist.
We love the TOP of Gennifer Goodwin’s gown – everything above the waist is good.
BAD:
Kat Dennings really needs to stand up strait. At the risk of sounding like our mothers – the first thing we noticed about Kat was how terrible her posture is. Shoulders back, head up girl!
The only thing we dislike about Edie’s look is her overly straight bangs. If they had been softer.. Perfection.
We have a terrible feeling that Gennifer’s dress is also sporting a mullet. Also we feel like this dress would have looked a whole lot better if it were all one colour below the waist – it kind of looks like the embroiderer got super bored stitching all those damn flowers to the skirt so proceeded to make them further and further apart to cover more ground. Also, would it kill her to smile?
Part Two coming soon….
