The previous Autumn/Winter 2012 season saw the debut collection, ‘First’, of designer Emily Miller-Sharma’s label, Liam. Recognized and loved for the label’s opulently elegant styles that are classic and chic, for Spring/Summer 2012-13, Liam takes a trip. After all, that is the name of the latest collection.
Carrying forward the stylish pantsuits presented in the AW12 collection, for SS12, Miller-Sharma has introduced the “Summer Suit”, which comprises a sophisticated hip-length blazer with prominent lapels, and a pleat front pant. A significant highpoint is that the dresses throughout the range accentuate lengths suitable for any occasion – from corporate-wear through to weddings, special birthdays, formals, award ceremonies, or just a casual after-work vino.
Featuring beautiful floral prints exclusively designed for Liam, such as the Jacaranda Peony and White Peony, the range also encompasses brilliant pops of colour, Jacaranda, hot pink (‘Zap’), and a crisp lime (‘Fresh’). Moreover, likewise to AW12, an acorn rivet reappears, almost hidden, on each piece in the collection, however this time, in silver. As a novel touch to the label, the rivet is a tiny travelling companion for one’s day-to-day journey.
With the first drop of Liam SS12 arriving in all RUBY stores on August 11, 2012, it will undoubtedly be another eloquent range that is sure to be greatly received.
